ALTOONA, Pa. — Brian Black, distinguished professor of history and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona, recently served as the invited commentator for a seminar at the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston.

Black offered commentary on a paper presented by Katheryn Viens titled “Farm, Factory, & Mine: Worcester Coal & the Role of Extractive Industries in Early 19th-Century New England.”
