Altoona to hold auditions for ‘Constructing Heroism in the Time of COVID'

Penn State Altoona will hold auditions for a staged reading of “Constructing Heroism in the Time of COVID” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will hold auditions for a staged reading of “Constructing Heroism in the Time of COVID” from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

“Constructing Heroism in the Time of COVID” is a new work written by Amir Marvasti, professor of sociology at Penn State Altoona, and Travis Saylor, a psychology student and research assistant at Penn State Altoona. It has been adapted for the stage and will be directed by Leila McCrumb, part-time instructor in theatre at Penn State Altoona.

The piece will be performed on March 22 and 23. Those interested in auditioning may prepare a one-to-two-minute monologue in advance or choose from a selection available at the auditions to cold read.
