Altoona music professor selected as finalist in American Prize Competition

ALTOONA, Pa. — Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber, professor of music at Penn State Altoona, is one of six finalists in the American Prize in Opera competition.

The American Prize is a series of nonprofit national competitions in the performing arts, providing cash awards, professional adjudication, and regional, national, and international recognition.

Each year, The American Prize rewards the best-recorded performances by individual artists and ensembles in the United States at the professional, community/amateur, college, university, church, and school levels. Judging panels are made up of top performers, directors, and other industry professionals. All contestants go through a rigorous semi-final and final round.

The results of the finals will be announced in May.
