Altoona to offer events for alcohol awareness week

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will host a series of virtual events for National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW), Oct. 19-23. The college's Wellness Advisory Board and the Office of Student and Civic Engagement are teaming up to present the events.

During NCAAW, students have opportunities to learn more about safe drinking practices and the risks of irresponsible alcohol use. Join any or all events to hear first-hand stories, learn about some of Penn State Altoona's community resources, watch a powerful documentary, and win prizes.

  • Friends for Life Kickoff Event
    Monday, Oct. 19, at 4:30 p.m.
  • Live Q&A with University Police and the Office of Student Conduct
    Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Movie screening of "My Name Was Bette: The Life and Death of an Alcoholic"
    Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Educational presentation from Blair County Drug and Alcohol Partnership
    Thursday, Oct. 22, at noon
