ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will hold classes on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2020. Due to the holiday, our local bus service will not be providing transportation via the usual bus routes on that day.

Penn State Altoona is partnering with Freedom Excursions to facilitate transportation between the Ivyside and downtown campuses on Labor Day. Freedom Excursions will run a continuous bus loop from the bus shelter located in the Hawthorn parking lot. The bus will make stops at the Altoona Bus Depot on 10th Avenue (near the Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence) and at the Devorris Downtown Center on 12th Avenue.

The loop will run from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, 2020, only. Students must present their Penn State ID card to board the bus.

Students should note that the loop provided by Freedom Excursions will only replicate the campus loop. With no Amtran service running on Labor Day, no other off-campus bus stops will be utilized.

Students are encouraged to monitor their Penn State email throughout the weekend leading up to the holiday in the event that any changes should occur to the schedule.
