Penn State Altoona Athletics recap Nov. 19-25, swimmers set new records

Men’s swimming

Ninth place at the Oberlin College Invitational (409 points)

Freshman Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, Pennsylvania/Clearfield) set three new Penn State Altoona men’s swimming records during the three-day Oberlin College Invitational on Friday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 24. Swanson set new team records in the 50 Yard Freestyle (22.12), 200 Yard Backstroke (1:57.25), and 100 Yard Backstroke (53.87).

Women’s basketball

Lock Haven University 82, Penn State Altoona 49

Penn State Altoona 74, Bethany College 62

Freshman guard Sarah Huston (Coatesville, Pennsylvania/Coatesville) came off the bench to average 9.0 points per game, 3.0 rebounds per game, 1.5 assists per game, and 1.0 steal per game in a pair of contests for the Lady Lions last week. She also shot 11-for-12 from the free throw line.

Women’s swimming

13th place at the Oberlin College Invitational (79 points)

Freshman Grace Dangelo (State College, Pennsylvania/State College) accounted for all 79 of Penn State Altoona’s points during the three-day Oberlin College Invitational. The freshman continued her stellar season by setting a new Penn State Altoona team record and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference record in the 200 Yard Butterfly, placing first with a time of 2:12.32. She also set a new team record in the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:12.32.
