ALTOONA, Pa. — Jared Frederick, assistant teaching professor of history at Penn State Altoona, was interviewed for a USA Today article on the 113th anniversary of the RMS Titanic's sinking.

On its maiden voyage from England to New York, the ship sank in the early morning hours of April 15, 1912, after striking an iceberg in the North Atlantic.

“I never would have imagined that my lifelong fascination with the ‘Ship of Dreams’ would be the spine of the article,” says Frederick. “This was both a treat and an honor.”
