Penn State Altoona to offer ballet, tap classes during fall semester

Penn State Altoona is offering dance classes in Scottish Highland, tap, and ballet for adults beginning in January 2024. There is a $50 registration fee for each of the three classes.

Penn State Altoona is offering beginner tap and ballet core classes during the fall 2024 semester. Ballet classes will be offered on Sundays from Sept. 29 through Nov. 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tap classes will be held on Fridays, from Aug. 30 through Oct. 4, from 7 to 8 p.m. All classes will be held in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. There is a $50 registration fee for each class series.

Ballet core classes are open to all experience levels and will help dancers achieve strength, flexibility, rhythm, and balance. Participants should wear athletic or dance attire. Ballet shoes are preferred but not required. Registration for ballet core classes is available online.

No experience is necessary for beginner tap classes. Participants will learn and explore the basic steps, rhythmic progressions, and dynamic combinations. They should wear athletic or dance attire. Tap shoes are required.
