Penn State Altoona student takes top honor at state-wide singing competition

Penn State Altoona students Jazzmine McCauley and Ziwei "Will" Lin participated in the undergraduate student research showcase at the annual meeting for the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Justice Educators, held March 24–25 at Slippery Rock University.

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona student Madelyn Colello was the winner of the commercial music category at the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition this past weekend. Students from universities across Pennsylvania were present at the competition.

Colello is an applied voice student who studies with Dr. Bonnie Cutsforth-Huber, professor of Music. She performed in the fall 2022 production of “AGHAST” and will perform with the Ivyside Pride chorale ensemble at Carnegie Hall in March 2024. Colello will also perform as a vocal soloist with the Penn State Altoona Jazz Band in December.
