ALTOONA, Pa. — Lindsay Keiter, assistant professor of history at Penn State Altoona, will offer the lecture "The Emergence of the Marriage Market" from 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, via Zoom.
The presentation is based on an article-in-progress by Keiter and traces the emergence of the concept of marriage as a market subject to supply and demand to the early 19th century. More information and registration details are available on the event website.
The event is hosted by the Massachusetts Historical Society, the oldest organization in the United States devoted to collecting materials for the study of American history.
