National Transfer Student Week events set for Oct. 18-22

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona will hold several events to celebrate National Transfer Student Week taking place Oct. 18-22.

This year's theme, "These Transfer Shoes: Step Into My Journey," will help students navigate the transfer process and build awareness of common transfer barriers and the diverse student needs on our campuses. Monday, Oct. 18

  • Tips for Transfer Financial Aid: Drop-in appointments  8 a.m. to 5 p.m., W113 Smith Building. Stop by our Financial Aid office to get information about the transfer financial aid process.
  • Credit Where Credit’s Due: How your transfer credits apply to your degree — 1 to 4 p.m., E130 Smith Building. Drop-in appointments with the registrar to discuss your transfer credits.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

  • Tips for Transfer Financial Aid: Drop-in Appointments  8 a.m. to 5 p.m., W113 Smith Building. Stop by our Financial Aid office for information about the transfer financial aid process.
  • Getting Career Ready at Penn State Altoona — noon to 1 p.m., Via Zoom. Join Career Services on this virtual webinar to gain valuable insight on preparing for your future career.
  • Credit Where Credit’s Due: How your transfer credits apply to your degree — noon to 4 p.m., E130 Smith Building. Drop-in appointments with the registrar to discuss your transfer credits. 

Wednesday, Oct. 20

Thursday, Oct. 21

  • Transfer T-shirt Swap — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Slep Student Center. Bring us swag from your previous college or university and we’ll replace it with a Penn State t-shirt!
  • Credit Where Credit’s Due: How your transfer credits apply to your degree noon to 4 p.m., E130 Smith Building. Drop-in appointments with the registrar.

Friday, Oct. 22

  • Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Day  Are you a current student at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College interested in learning more about Penn State? Join Admissions for a transfer student information session and a student-led campus tour of Penn State Altoona. Register online today.
