Biography

Dr. Shihui Shen is the Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University – Altoona. She earned her doctorate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. Before joining in Penn State Altoona, Dr. Shen was an Assistant Professor at Washington State University, and the director of Washington Center for Asphalt Technology, an AASHTO accredit laboratory through AMRL. Her research focuses on civil engineering material characterization and modeling, pavement engineering, railroad engineering, and innovative design and materials for transportation sustainability. She has published 26 peer reviewed journal papers and many peer reviewed conference papers and reports. Dr. Shen is a member of TRB AFK30 committee, ASCE Geo-Institute Pavement Committee, and ASCE Bituminous Materials Committee. She is also the board member of the International Association of Chinese Infrastructure Professionals.
