Dana M. Brinkel

Dana Brinkel has worked at Penn State Altoona for almost eighteen years. Her primary role was overseeing the day-to-day operations of the chemistry laboratories. She also taught chemistry laboratory courses part-time for seventeen years. She received a bachelor’s degree in chemistry education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in learning, design, and technology from Penn State. Her academic focus is on using cultural tools, social supports, and collaborative knowledge building while conducting inquiry experiments in chemistry. Other academic interests include learning more about using learner analytics to identify areas of course design that need modification.
