Biography
Alyssa holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Vincent College and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh (sorry, Penn State!). She completed her graduate internship working with students in grades 1 through 12, hoping to work with young children in her career. However, after passing her Licensed Social Work exam in 2018, Alyssa spent three and a half years working at two mental health residential facilities for adults with severe diagnoses—totally not on her Bingo card! Growing up just down Spring Run Creek (yes, “creek,” not “crick”), Alyssa felt called to help support college-age students facing mental health challenges, particularly post-COVID. Since 2022, she has been the Mental Health Outreach Coordinator and a CAPS counselor at Penn State Altoona. Alyssa enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and sipping on coffee from Dunkin’ any time she can!
