Penn State Altoona’s Writing Commons helps students in all disciplines become more effective, more confident writers. Our method is multi-faceted, flexible, and above all, collaborative, reflecting our respect for the individual writer whose talents, voice, and goals are central to all our endeavors. Supportive, trained undergraduate peer Writing Consultants will work one-on-one with students at all levels, in all disciplines, and at any stage in the writing process. We are here to help with any writing assignment or project in any course.
What We Do
During each thirty-minute session, a Writing Consultant will meet one-on-one with you to discuss your written work. Writing Consultants are not editors and will not do the work for you, but they will help you to become a stronger writer by offering support and guidance on all writing matters, including good writing practices, documentation, and grammar.
The Writing Commons is in room 127 of the Eiche Library across the hall from the Robert L. Smith Learning Resources Center (LRC). You can also find us on Instagram at writingcommons_psua.
