Penn State Altoona to host ‘Meet the English Faculty’ event March 17

Hard Freight Café, an open mic event, will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 28, in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at Penn State Altoona.

ALTOONA, Pa. — Students interested in Penn State Altoona’s English major or writing and digital media minor are invited to an informal “Meet the English Faculty” gathering on Tuesday, March 17, before and after the “Hard Freight Café” open mic event in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

English faculty will be on hand to chat from 6:30 to 7 p.m., with the open mic beginning at 7 p.m. Attendees are welcome to stay for the open mic. Following the event, faculty will continue to be available to talk one-on-one with students.

Faculty will share information about course offerings; the English major, its minors, and concentrations in creative writing and global narratives. More information on the value of majoring in English is available on the English website.
