Karen Armstrong, Ed.D., is the director of the Dignity Collaborative at Penn State Altoona, a university-based hub advancing dignity-centered research, leadership education, and depolarization across campuses, workplaces, and communities. A clinically trained counselor and nationally recognized dignity practitioner, she partners with educators, civic leaders, and community organizations to translate dignity principles into practical frameworks for equity, belonging, and civil discourse. Through convenings, storytelling, and long-term partnerships, Dr. Armstrong’s work focuses on helping individuals and institutions navigate conflict, strengthen relationships, and build cultures where every person’s inherent worth is recognized and protected.
