Penn State Altoona’s Lexi Colaianni receives AMCC Player of the Week nod

Penn State Altoona goalkeeper Sasha Mohoruk, of State College, and defender Owen Myers, of Spring Grove, were both voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference team in men’s soccer, the league office announced on Tuesday, Nov. 12.

LATROBE, Pa. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Lexi Colaianni, of Pittsburgh, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in women’s tennis on Monday, Sept. 1.

Colaianni had a dominant performance in both singles and doubles for the Lions on opening weekend, helping Penn State Altoona go 2-0 in road matches against AMCC opponent Carlow University and nonconference foe Waynesburg University.

In Saturday's victory at Carlow, Colaianni blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in No. 3 singles while posting a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles. She continued her success Sunday at Waynesburg, winning 6-2, 6-4 in No. 3 singles and 6-0 in No. 3 doubles.

Penn State Altoona women’s tennis returns to action Sept. 7 with its home opener, hosting non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College for a 1 p.m. match at the Penn State Altoona tennis courts.
