Penn State Altoona professor publishes poems in international journal

A collaborative poetry project conceptualized by Erin Murphy, professor of English, has been published in a national literary journal. “I Want to Hear” features lines by 22 writers and appears in “ONE ART: a journal of poetry.”

ALTOONA, Pa. — Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, has published two new poems in the international journal The Ilanot Review. Murphy’s poems “In Case of Emergency” and “Conceived” are included in a themed issue on parents.

Murphy is the Poet Laureate of Blair County and author or editor of 13 books, including “Human Resources,” forthcoming from Salmon Poetry. She is currently serving as Penn State’s inaugural Mellon Academic Leadership Fellow for the Big Ten Academic Alliance.
