The Sheetz Center for Entrepreneurial Excellence, Altoona LaunchBox Supported by the Hite family, the Altoona Area School District, and the Altoona Area School District Foundation teamed up recently to host the Innovation TestLab program at Penn State Altoona.
Innovation TestLab, a multi-week program for high school students, offers participants the opportunity to experience a college classroom setting while learning concepts such as customer discovery, research and feasibility studies, critical thinking, and presentation skills.
The Craft It, Pitch It, Win It competition, offered by the Altoona LaunchBox supported by the Hite family and the Penn State Altoona Sheetz Fellows Program, was held April 10. Finalists presented to a panel of three judges about a business or product and their plans to implement new marketing strategies.
Penn State Altoona softball’s right-handed pitcher Madalyn Maynard, of Towanda, was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 29.
Maynard won all four games in which she pitched last week, helping the Lions go 4-1 against AMCC opponents Mount Aloysius College and Hilbert College and non-conference foe Juniata College.
