Getting the payload right wasn't easy. It had to be less dense than a bird, it had to be waterproof, and it needed a long-lasting battery that was light enough to allow the balloon to float.
English majors presented their Senior Seminar projects on Friday, December 8, 2017, as part of English 487W, the capstone course for the major. This semester's class was taught by Dr. Laura Rotunno, associate professor of English. Rachel Lingenfelter's presentation was entitled “The Legacy of W. B. Yeats.” Madeline DeLuca discussed her paper “The Garden of Eden: Hemingway’s Risks, Rewards, and Marks on Literature.” Jessica Janczewski combined scholarly and creative writing in her project “Toni Morrison’s Voice, Language, and Structure: Worthy of a Nobel Prize.” The presentations were followed by a luncheon for students and their families.
