Sheetz Gallery, Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts

“Greetings From Mapledew,” a body of work by visual art studies student Noah Schenk, will be on display April 10 through 19 in the Sheetz Gallery of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. A reception will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, in the gallery. The reception and the exhibition are free and open to the public.

Schenk is a visual artist who works in a multitude of mediums, including digital and traditional media. With a passion for conceptual art and design, their work often features visual representations of ideas through sketches and drawings. They intend to graduate from Penn State Altoona in May 2025.

Schenk shows their passion for crafting stories and creating characters to bring life into “Greetings From Mapledew,” a mystery-thriller video game. The game puts the player in the shoes of a rookie state park ranger in a secluded Rust Belt town. It delves into the meaning of change, the power of nature, and the importance of keeping those you know close.

The galleries are open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For further information, call the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts at 814-949-5452.
