Penn State Altoona is pleased to present opportunities for community members to explore the arts. Courses are available in various types of dance, theatre, and visual arts.

Take a free and open modern dance class with Allied Motion Dance Company for adult community dancers. This is a monthly opportunity to explore modern dance with low pressure and much pleasure, exploring floor work, technique, and development of artistry. Participants must be 18 or older.

Course Details

  • Dates: Sundays, May 31, June 28, July 26, and August 23
  • Time: 1:00–2:15 p.m.

Designed for all levels and abilities, this ballet class provides instruction on barre exercises, alignment, flexibility, strength, and coordination as well as the fundamentals of turns, leaps, and dynamic traveling movements. Dancers are encouraged to wear athletic or dance attire and ballet shoes. Participants must be 18 or older. Registration is available online.

  • Cost: $50 for six one-hour classes
  • Dates: Thursdays, July 16, 23, and 30 and Aug. 6, 13, and 20
