Summer Start

Summer Start is a unique opportunity for you to begin your Penn State education early, earning credits and learning about the University resources available to support you. We are ready to meet you where you are today and take you to where you want to be. Summer Start includes courses designed for new online learners and taught by experienced and dedicated faculty. The program is focused on student success, replicating in-person learning with small class sizes and special programming including online tutoring and peer mentoring to help you successfully transition to Penn State.

Summer Courses

Penn State Altoona offers a wide range of courses across its three summer sessions–Maymester, Summer Session I, and Summer Session II.

Summer courses offer the opportunity to catch up, to get ahead, or to add to what you are learning. This might mean taking courses toward a minor or freeing up time in your fall or spring schedule to complete an internship or to study abroad.

Summer class sizes are small and engaging. Course offerings are typically available to view toward the end of the fall semester and summer course registration opens in early February.
