Penn State Altoona to host viewing event for solar eclipse April 8

Penn State Altoona will host a community viewing event for the total solar eclipse that will take place on Monday, April 8. Eclipse glasses will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to the first 300 people. There will also be hands-on science activities and a Planet Walk, a scale model of the solar system, to take a stroll through.

Penn State Altoona to host ‘Destination Unknown’ career path panel

Penn State Altoona will offer “Destination Unknown: Mapping Career Pathways in the 21st Century” at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, online via Zoom. A panel of three Penn State graduates who have built professional expertise from different academic disciplines will answer questions from current students.

Penn State Altoona to exhibit ‘Something About the Sky’ by Lori Hepner

“Something About the Sky” by 2023-24 Penn State Laureate Lori Hepner will be exhibited in the McLanahan and Sheetz Galleries of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts March 28 through April 27. The exhibit features a new series of cloud drawings and skyscape light paintings featuring movement created through Hepner’s performances in the studio using wearable LEDs.
