ALTOONA, Pa. — Poet Catherine Pierce will give a reading of her works on Thursday, March 30, at 12:15 p.m. in the Titelman Study of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.

Pierce is the Poet Laureate of Mississippi and the author of four books of poems, most recently “Danger Days.” Her work has appeared in The Best American Poetry, the New York Times, American Poetry Review, and The Nation, among others. An NEA Fellow and two-time Pushcart Prize winner, Pierce co-directs the creative writing program at Mississippi State University.

Reviewer Gunnar Ohberg describes "Danger Days" as an “unflinching reckoning on the fraught relationship between humanity and nature and how war between the two ensures the eventual destruction of both.”

This event is sponsored by Penn State Altoona's English program and the Division of Arts and Humanities.
