ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in campus events and activities for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Denim Day

All are encouraged to wear denim on Wednesday, April 24, for Denim Day. This day aims to combat victim-blaming, promote awareness of sexual violence, and honor survivors of sexual assault. Information tables will be set up in Port-Sky Café and the Hawthorn Building.

Cover the Cruiser event

Also, on April 24, the campus community can show their support for sexual assault survivors at the "Cover the Cruiser" event from noon to 2 p.m. outside of Slep Student Center. Attendees can write a message of support and attach it to a police cruiser.

This event is sensitive in nature and may contain content that is disturbing or triggering for some individuals. Counselors will be on hand at the event.
