ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona’s men's club hockey team is combining forces with the Mario Lemieux Foundation, the Griffith Family Foundation and Easter for Eli for the Purple Puck event.

The game will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28, when the Nittany Lions host Franklin & Marshall at Galactic Ice Rink in Altoona. General admission is $10 and $5 for students.

The event will kick off with a ceremony to honor and support those who are fighting cancer, to celebrate those who have beaten it and to honor families that have lost someone to the disease.

There will be raffle baskets donated by more than 30 local businesses and a silent auction that includes a signed Mario Lemieux jersey. All proceeds benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation, the Griffith Family Foundation, and Easter for Eli.
