Altoona’s McKenna Holl named AMCC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

Penn State Altoona student-athlete McKenna Holl, of Hummelstown, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Women’s Swimmer of the Week, when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday, Jan. 22.

Holl helped lead the Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team to a 129-43 win at AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday by winning one individual swim, earning runner-up status in another, and being part of a relay team that won its event.

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete McKenna Holl, of Hummelstown, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Women’s Swimmer of the Week, when the league announced its weekly awards on Monday, Jan. 22.

Holl helped lead the Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team to a 129-43 win at AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday by winning one individual swim, earning runner-up status in another, and being part of a relay team that won its event.

Holl won the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:06.74, and she placed second in the 200 Yard IM after finishing in 2:25.60. She was also part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that achieved first place with a combined time of 1:53.03.

This is Holl’s first AMCC swimmer of the week award this season, and it is the second of her collegiate career.

Penn State Altoona women’s swimming is 4-3 in dual meets this season. The Lions return to the road for their next meet, as the team will travel to compete against non-conference foe Lebanon Valley College on Friday, Jan. 26.
