Altoona's Adam Dotts chosen as AMCC Men’s Swimmer of the Week

Penn State Altoona student-athlete Adam Dotts, of Hummelstown, was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Jan. 22.

Dotts recorded one individual first-place finish while also helping two relay teams win their events in Saturday’s 127-67 victory for the Penn State Altoona men’s swimming team over AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford.

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Adam Dotts, of Hummelstown, was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Jan. 22.

Dotts recorded one individual first-place finish while also helping two relay teams win their events in Saturday’s 127-67 victory for the Penn State Altoona men’s swimming team over AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford.

Dotts clinched first place in the 100 Yard Freestyle, ending the event with a time of 50.58. He also had a hand in first-place finishes in both the 200 Yard Medley Relay and 200 Yard Freestyle Relay events. In the 200 Yard Medley Relay, Dotts and his teammates compiled a total time of 1:44.18, and in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, he helped his squad to a total time of 1:32.25.

This is Dotts’ first AMCC swimmer of the week award of his collegiate career.

Penn State Altoona men’s swimming is 5-1 in dual meets this season. The Lions’ next competition is Friday, Jan. 26, when the team will travel to face non-conference opponent Lebanon Valley College.
