Penn State Altoona to offer Scottish Highland dance classes

ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona is offering a Scottish Highland dance class for adults beginning Wednesday, Oct. 4.

This athletic dance form develops strength, stamina, and flexibility. Students will be introduced to the Sword Dance and Highland Fling as well as social dances. An energetic class fueled by bagpipe music will bring out the Celtic spirit of dance in everyone!

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from Oct. 4 through Nov. 8 from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Dancers should wear shorts or leggings with a t-shirt or tank top, socks or bare feet, long hair pulled back (No jeans or jean shorts). Students may bring a water bottle. There is a $50 fee registration fee.
