ALTOONA, Pa. — Four Penn State Altoona students presented their research at the Pennsylvania Academy of Science Annual Meeting held March 17-20 at Gannon University in Erie.

The meeting featured over 100 presentations by undergraduate and graduate students from across the state. Gracie Harlow won the third-place prize for best poster for her presentation, “Stream chemistry and invasive New Zealand mud snail density,” and Nicole Bailey won the second-place prize for best poster for her presentation, “Yearly variation in the population density and reproduction of the aquatic invader, Potamopyrgus antipodarm.”

Harlow and Gavin Newsom were also awarded grants to fund their research for the coming year.
