ALTOONA, Pa. — Bryan Schlake, assistant teaching professor of rail transportation engineering (RTE) at Penn State Altoona, and Gary Babcoke, a 2022 RTE graduate and current project engineer for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District, are featured on a recent episode of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) podcast “Platform Chats.”

AREMA is the leading professional association for railway engineers working together to further the development and advancement of both technical and practical knowledge in the railway industry.

Schlake and Babcoke both have extensive experience navigating the AREMA student program and share their stories of attending conferences, applying for scholarships, forming a student chapter, and preparing for a career in the rail industry.
