ALTOONA, Pa.—The Penn State Altoona Alumni Society’s fifth annual Community for Kids (CFK) Golf Tournament presented by PSECU was held Friday, June 28, 2019. The event raised nearly $20,000 to support the Center for Child Justice Blair County’s children’s advocacy center; Penn State Altoona Intercollegiate Athletics; and the Alumni Society Scholarship Fund.

More than $82,000 has been raised by the tournament over the last five years. “The Community for Kids Golf Tournament, presented by PSECU, just continues to flourish as not just a great golf tournament, but social event and gathering of Penn Staters,” said Tom Koehle, tournament chair. “The support of our alumni, college staff, committee members, and loyal sponsors and golfers is very much appreciated and allows us to make a positive impact on so many young people.”

The 108 golfers took part in the tournament hosted at Sinking Valley Country Club in Altoona. Tournament participants, sponsors, alumni, and community members attended the Tee It Up Reception the night before at the Blairmont Club in Hollidaysburg, which included special guests The Obligatory Penn State Podcast Team featuring Mike “The Mailman” Herr and former Nittany Lion legend and NFL player Brandon Noble.

“We are so grateful to PSECU, our presenting sponsor, for their support of our tournament and its beneficiaries,” said Koehle. “The relationship between the Penn State Alumni Association and PSECU is just budding and this sponsorship is a prime example of the commitment they have to our alumni and the communities they serve.”
