Leveraging dozens of faculty with an academic and research interest in sports, Penn State on Nov. 14 announced the creation of the Center for the Study of Sports in Society. The center will be charged with supporting research, teaching, public programs and service across Penn State related to the study of sport and its cultural, economic and social impact.
Penn State Altoona will hold several activities and events as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Nov. 14-17. Global Entrepreneurship Week is the annual celebration of Penn State's year-round commitment to innovation. It brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to promote the entrepreneurial spirit and cultivate student start-ups.

Julie Decker, instructor in nursing at Penn State Altoona, was recently named a collaborative academic research member on a multi-state project called “Veterans’ Action League” that empowers veterans to have an active voice in guiding their health care delivery.
The Penn State Alumni Association recognized former Penn State Altoona student Joe Keller with the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow, the highest award given by the Alumni Association.
