Adam Plucinski, assistant teaching professor of engineering at Penn State Altoona, and Lolita Paff, associate professor of business economics at Penn State Berks, are the 2022-23 recipients of the Jack P. Royer Active and Collaborative Learning Award from the Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses. The award recognizes Commonwealth Campus faculty and staff who demonstrate innovative teaching practices to enhance student learning and who facilitate student engagement in learning to advance conceptual and applied understanding and competencies.
Penn State Altoona student Jazzmine McCauley was presented with the “Gerhard O. W. Mueller and Freda Adler Undergraduate Student Scholarship” at the annual meeting of the Northeastern Association of Criminal Justice Sciences.
Penn State Altoona will host its first International Conference on Empirical Economics on Saturday, Aug. 5, via Zoom. More than 200 people from around the globe will participate, lending to a diversity of perspectives and the exploration of a broad range of issues and viewpoints. There will be four concurrent sessions each in the morning and afternoon during which participants will present their research papers.
Jared Frederick, assistant teaching professor of history at Penn State Altoona, was recently recognized as an Emerging Scholar by three presidential libraries administered by the United States National Archives.
