The Penn State Altoona Heritage Committee will receive the Blair County Historical Society's President's Award for its efforts in preserving campus history.

Penn State Altoona will host playwright Allyson Currin at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Following a performance of her play "Love and Whiskey," Currin will offer a question and answer session about her play.
The Penn State men’s basketball program will bring the Blue-White Hoops Showcase back to Altoona on Oct. 15. The scrimmage begins at noon, followed by a clinic for kids 12 and under, at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse.
Rachel Fowkes had no intention of attending any college other than Penn State. In fact, it was the only college that she applied to. "It's all I knew and all I ever wanted, it was my dream school." Her acceptance made her the fifth person in her family to attend not only Penn State, but Penn State Altoona.
