Penn State's senior class has voted to go green for the second year in a row with 2015's winning class gift option -- the Solar Panel Array. "The solar array will build awareness of our energy-reduction efforts and proclaim Penn State's strong commitment to sustainability and a greener future," said student Tara Bendler.

Nittany Lions Football Coach James Franklin dropped his recyclable into the bins at the 2014 Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. The Fest Zero team, headed by 1994 Penn State graduate Brad Fey, is working on zero waste for the yearly event.
B. Stephen Carpenter II, an art education professor in the College of Arts and Architecture, uses a portable filter press made by engineering students. This filter press is one of the first steps toward making inexpensive, accessible, clean water a reality in communities that need it.
Bicycling is an easy and popular way to get around on campus. University Park strives to be a bicycle-friendly campus, and several bicycle repair stations have been installed to provide bicyclists further convenience.
