Housing Information

For students who will be living in a University owned and operated Residence Hall

If you have secured on-campus housing for spring 2018 (January – May 2018), you will be able to move into your residence hall room any time after 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 4, 2018. New Student Orientation for international students will begin on Friday, January 5.

Please note that if you arrive in Altoona earlier than this date, you will need to secure lodging in a local hotel until the residence halls open. Please note that residence hall accommodations are for the student only; parents and/or additional family members will need to make hotel reservations if attending the International New Student Orientation program.

For Altoona hotel options, please visit the Lodging page.

Students living on-campus who are arriving on Thursday, January 4 should check in at the Office of Student Affairs in 103 Slep Student Center between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. If arriving after 5:00 p.m., students should go directly to the residence hall where they have been assigned a room (Oak, Maple, Spruce, or Cedar halls).

Please access the campus map for location of the halls.

Questions regarding on-campus housing should be directed to the Office of Housing and Food Services at 814-949-5400.

For students who will living in off-campus (non-University owned) housing

If you are living off-campus you will need to check with your landlord regarding the date you may move into your housing facility. You may, depending on the dates within your rental lease agreement, be able to move in earlier than the January 4, 2018 date listed above for students living on-campus. If that is the case, you will still need to follow the check in procedures for Thursday, January 4 as listed within your New Student Orientation (NSO) schedule that will be sent to you via email.

PLEASE NOTE: If you need a letter confirming your participation in the New Student Orientation program for your off-campus landlord (if needed for early move-in), please contact the Office of Student Affairs.

If you have yet to secure housing for the fall 2017 semester
