Penn State Executive Vice President and Provost Nicholas P. Jones has shared a message updating the University community on steps being taken to monitor the evolving worldwide coronavirus outbreak and prepare for the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Through a unique division within Penn State University Police, students support police officers with various security and traffic control efforts while gaining important experience that prepares them for their career goals. Student auxiliary officers are employed by University Police at Penn State University Park and Altoona campuses.
Exercise is Medicine Week 2017, set for Oct. 9-13, will include the opening of the Center for Fitness and Wellness' new space in the IM Building, as well as campus-wide events and activities focused on fitness, health and wellness.
Penn State is moving toward a University-wide health insurance requirement for the 2018-19 academic school year. In preparation for the new requirement, University Health Services (UHS) will begin collecting student health insurance information in May 2017.
Students who are new to Penn State and all students living in University housing are reminded that they must submit their immunization records using myUHS through a new three-step process. As part of this process, students who do not submit their immunization records prior to Sept. 15 will be unable to register for spring 2017 classes.
