Sustainability at Penn State Altoona
We are a diverse group of faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community members whose objectives include the following:
- The creation and coordination of activities and events to advance sustainability.
- The investigation of best practices to enhance campus sustainability.
- The creation of a campus environment compatible with the College’s educational mission.
We do make recommendations directly to our Chancellor regarding sustainable development, coordination, and goal-setting at Penn State Altoona.
We provide internships, service opportunities, and a range of workshops open to faculty, staff, students, and the community.
We support sustainable infrastructure projects such as the educational and communal space at the Seminar Forest, increased recycling efforts, and sustainable stream management projects.
We work with community partners such as the Intermunicipal Relations Committee, Juniata Valley Audubon Society, and the Blair County Conservation District.
