Biography
I am the editor/writer for Research & Teaching at Penn State Altoona, the campus’s research magazine. I also copyedit for the University of Chicago Press and Penn State University Press. I have been an adjunct instructor in English, editor in a number of book publishing houses, newspaper reporter, book reviewer, and personal assistant to a singer/songwriter. I also led a class teaching seniors how to write their life story, truly one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. My first book, The Best Places You’ve Never Seen: Pennsylvania’s Small Museums, was published in 2003 by Penn State Press. My next project (where I served as editor/feedback/counsel/cook) is Steve Forbert’s Big City Cat: My Life in Folk-Rock, to be published by PFP Publishing in 2017.
