Luay Y. Taha received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Basra University, the M.Sc. degree in Control and Instrumentation from the University of Technology, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor, Canada, in 2019. He also received a Ph.D. degree in Micro-Engineering and Nano Electronics from UKM University, in 2009. In 2002, he has joined Emirates Airlines/Emirates Aviation University and in 2009, he was promoted to the Assistant Professor rank and appointed as a Program Manager of Electronics Engineering while in Jan. 2014, he was promoted to the Associate Professor rank. In 2017, he was appointed as a sessional instructor at the University of Windsor, to teach different undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and in 2019, he was appointed as a postgraduate fellow to develop new algorithms in the biomedical signal separation of ECG signals using blind source separation techniques. Currently, Dr. Taha is an assistant teaching professor at Penn State Altoona. His research interests include programmable instrumentation, energy harvesting using piezoelectric and electrostatic approaches, and blind source separation of ECG and speech signals. Dr. Taha is a senior member of the IEEE, a member of IEEE signal processing society, a member of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, and a member of the IEEE Educational Activities.
