Dr. Johannes Raabe is an Assistant Professor of Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology. He comes to Penn State Altoona from the University of Tübingen in Germany where he accepted a postdoctoral research and teaching position upon completion of his doctoral studies in 2016. Dr. Raabe was born and raised in Germany before moving to the United States to obtain his Master’s degree from the University of Wyoming and PhD from the University of Tennessee. His research interests are primarily in the areas of motivation and the coach-athlete relationship. In addition, he is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) and has provided applied sport psychology services for various teams, athletes, and coaches as well as ROTC cadre and cadets.
