Dr. Faeze Ghofrani is currently an assistant teaching professor of rail transportation engineering at Penn State Altoona. She obtained her Ph.D. in civil engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo (UB), and her BS and MS degrees in railroad transportation engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology. Prior to joining Penn State Altoona as a faculty member, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher and a graduate research assistant at UB, where she conducted research on data-driven track deterioration modeling for predictive maintenance. Her research vision is to incorporate recent data analytics advances and technologies into a broad range of railroad engineering problems. In this field, she has authored or co-authored several journal and conference publications. She is currently the review editor for several journals in the field including the journal of "Transportation Research Part C," "IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems," and Journal of “Transportation Engineering Part A.”
