The Office of Student Conduct charges $20 for a disciplinary background check. Disciplinary background checks are generally requested for graduate school or by potential employers. Each additional background check requested for a student in the same semester as the original request will cost $5. Cash, checks or money orders are acceptable forms of payment. Payment is expected when the request is made and checks or money orders should be made out to Penn State University. In order to release records to third parties, a signed release from the student is required. A copy of this request, along with a description of the information released is maintained in the Office of Student Conduct. If you have questions, please call our office at 814-949-5065 and ask to speak with the administrative assistant.
The Office of Student Conduct charges a fee of $20 for failing to appear for a scheduled disciplinary conference. Prior to rescheduling the missed appointment, the student must pay the fee of $20 and provide a copy of the receipt verifying payment. This fee is assessed in addition to the disciplinary hold that is placed upon the student's registration, which will remain in place until such time as the student has paid the fee and appeared as directed for his/her disciplinary conference. The registration hold will prevent the student from scheduling, adding, or dropping classes. Upon placement of the registration hold, the student will receive notification through the University's email system that the hold has been placed on their records, and what action must be taken to remove the hold.
The Office of Student Conduct will make every attempt to notify the student of his/her appointment either by telephone, email, or both, if this information is provided by the student to the University through LionPATH. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their local contact information is accurate and up-to-date.
