Finding Ourselves in Medieval Literature
1:15–2:00 p.m.
Fireside Lounge, Slep Student Center
What do we have in common with the Middle Ages and the literature it produced? How can we find out more about ourselves and our own culture by reading such literature? In this session, we’ll explore a few excerpts of medieval poetry and drama to talk about issues that mattered then and that matter now. Even though the medieval seems remote and distant, we are closer to it than we often realize.
Dr. Jeff Stoyanoff is an assistant professor of English and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies at Penn State Altoona.
