Penn State has been awarded grant funding from the U.S. Department of Education to provide child care financial assistance to student parents University-wide.
The Federal "Child Care Access Means Parents in School" program authorized by the Higher Education Amendments of 1998 assists universities and colleges across to improve child care access for student parents.
Penn State's Work/Life Programs Office has implemented the Student Parent Child Care Subsidy Program at all Penn State locations. Eligible student parents can utilize these funds to assist in child care costs at approved child care centers and home care providers. Student parents also may receive assistance with before-and after-school care, sick and emergency care, summer child care, and care during finals and mid-term periods.
The Penn State Altoona Student Initiated Fee: Activities program provides funding to support this program.
