25Live, the calendar system utilized by Penn State, has been integrated with our college website. If you are scheduling an event that is open to the public, an event that may be of interest to students, or an event that may be of interest to a large portion of faculty and staff, you can add it to a public calendar on our site. The calendar gives options to add events to your personal calendar, share events on social media, sign up for email notifications, and more.
Adding your event to the online public calendar is easy to do as you add or edit your event.
Instructions
Step One: Go to Resources
When adding or editing an event, scroll to the Resources section and find the Search Resources field.
Step Two: Search
Type "Calendar - Altoona" in the search field and click the Search button.
Step Three: Apply the Resource
To apply the resource to your event, click the Reserve button.
Step Four: Confirm the Resource
You'll see details about the Resource as a confirmation that it has been applied to the event. If you wish to remove the resource, click the Remove link.
Once you've taken these steps and saved your event, it will be added to the queue for approval. Once approved, the event will appear on the online calendar.
If the event has already been confirmed and you are unable to edit it, contact the webmaster to add your event to the calendar.
Some things to keep in mind ...
Because this is a public calendar, it is important that the time of your event is entered correctly. That means setting your start and end times for the actual times of the event and using the "Additional Time" option for setup- or tear-down time.
The above process should be completed only for events that can/should be displayed on the public calendar.
Examples of what SHOULD be included:
- Theatre, dance, or music productions
- Public lectures
- Open mic nights
- Admission events
- Brown bag lunches open to faculty and staff and/or students
- Division, Faculty Senate, and Staff Advisory Council meetings
- Conferences
- Student organization events
Examples of what should NOT be included:
- Small committee meetings
- Office staff meetings
- Class schedules
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the webmaster.
