Deadlines for Submitting Non-Degree Enrollment
The student should submit the completed application and the re-enrollment fee as early as possible and no later than two weeks prior to the start of classes in which the student wants to enroll. Some units may require longer lead times. Students should check with their enrollment unit/campus to make sure they can meet all requirements. Exceptions after this deadline are at the discretion of the unit of enrollment. The deadline to submit a non-degree application is 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before the first day of classes of that semester.
To qualify for membership in Go-60, an applicant must:
- Be a Pennsylvania resident, a former Penn State student, or a former Penn State employee.
- Be at least 60 years of age at the time of enrollment and be retired or employed less than half-time (20 hours or less per week).
- Meet the specified course prerequisites and follow established rules, regulations, and procedures applicable to all students.
Enrolling in Credit Courses
Go-60 students may enroll in day or evening courses. Students enrolling for the first time will need to complete a Non-degree Student Credit Enrollment Data form. Non-degree Enrollment information is available online on the Registrar's Office web page. Non-degree students may enroll in up to seven credits on a space-available basis. Students will enroll in courses by accessing their LionPATH student page and completing any to-do items or holds listed.
Go-60 students admitted into a degree program or currently enrolled in one will no longer be eligible for the tuition waiver as per University Park Senate Policy 14-10.
Note: As a part of the initial course enrollment, your Penn State ID picture will be taken in the Housing and Food Service Office, located in Port-Sky Café. You must provide a photo ID before the Penn State Student ID can be taken.
Auditing a Course
Go-60 student may audit a credit course, which means the student follows the regular registration procedure but does not receive a grade for the course. Go-60 students who wish to audit a course must notify the Registrar’s Office, 130E Smith Building, at the time of course registration.
Go-60 students may purchase all required textbooks and course materials from the Penn State Bookstore on campus.
